The Youth Action Committee is unique in that its members are composed primarily of Mountain House teens that are elected by their peers. The committee encourages participation from all youth who attend the committee meetings.
The committee meets once a month on the Tuesday before the MHSCD Board of Directors meeting (held on the second Wednesday of each month). Meeting are Brown Act meetings and are publicly noticed and agendized. If you would like to apply to be on the Youth Action Committee, please complete the MHCSD Board Appointment Application. Meetings are held in the Michael Forbes McGrew Board Room located at 251 E. Main Street Mountain House, CA 95391
Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) Mission Statement
To: Provide a framework which allows for the involvement of all youth between the grades of 6th through 12th the ability to develop or recommend community programs which are geared toward the growth and development of the youth in Mountain House, subject to the MHCSD Board of Directors approval for implementation.
In a Way That: The MHCSD Board will allow the Youth Action Advisory Committee primary ownership, leadership, and input in the direction of social activities, community programs, cultural activities, governmental processes, and academic development.
So That: The programs and activities are reflective of the interest and desires of the majority of the youth between the grade levels of 6 through 12 in the Lammersville Joint Unified School District.
