The City Council has created several committees/commissions to explore topics of interest to the City. These independent committees/commissions meet periodically to develop and make recommendations for the full City's consideration. Generally, the committees/commissions are made up of 2 Council Members and three volunteer members chosen from Mountain House residents.

If you would like to apply to be on any of the Committees/Commission, please fill out the Appointment Application.

The Commission will consist of five members of the community who will be appointed by the Council and serve for four years. Commissions work with, and are supported by, City staff. The Commission will follow rules established by Resolution for selecting a chairperson and conducting meetings, including the Brown Act. The City will assign tasks to the Commission, and the Commission will submit their findings, recommendations and proposed policies to the City for consideration. Some tasks that could be assigned to the Commission include:

  • Review proposed park amenities
  • Review policies regarding use of parks, picnic areas, and facilities
  • Evaluate and recommend the types and frequency of community recreation events
  • Recommend fees for the use of City facilities
